Hello,

If an uproc is not in status event wait, how is it possible that the resource file is updated every 30 secs ?

And how is it possible to have more then one RES file for a resource ?

Regards

Stijn

    Hi Stijn,

    for question 1 :
    - If an uproc is not in status event wait, how is it possible that the resource file is updated every 30 secs ?

    answer :
The ressource file starts to be checked when it is expected by an uproc,
so the uproc is naturally in "EVENT WAIT" status.
The status status can be forced  ( action : force complete for example )

    -----------

    for question 2 :

    - how is it possible to have more then one RES file for a resource ?

    answer :
It is not possible to have more than one file for a RES file.

    I hope this helped.

    Have a nice weekend

    Hello,

But if the uproc with the resource isn't in status 'event wait', why does he try to scan ?

    2017-09-25 11:50:42 | xxxx.00000018 | 0094135 | Scan Number 21081 | Checking resource xxx...
    2017-09-25 11:50:42 | xxxx.00000018 | 0094135 | Scan Number 21081 | No file matching filter [/home/aspadm/EIB/files],[xxxx.lst]
    2017-09-25 11:50:42 | xxxx.00000018 | 0094135 | Scan Number 21081 | Check KO: resource missing

Probably because of a wrong purge on the file u_frrv60.dta which contains the list of resources to be scanned by the EEP.
    Could you check that?

I see 47 lines in this file.

With all R000000xxx numbers. Are these resources in this file, the ones that scan every 30 secs ?

Or how can I check the wrong purge ?

    Hello,

I have a session that run every 5 mins and create a file (example XS0000004143500629A000000001U000003385.4567749) with the joblog in the folder /log/exp, is this a setting in dollar universe to stop writing every run a file in this folder ?

    Hi Stijn,

    Regarding the logs,
By design, job-log are file generated in the "~/exp/log" folder, for every execution, there is no way, to avoid that.

But, there are also good news ,
As you know, the native automatic V6 on-line purge, purges the jobs and their log files, according to the retention delays of your policy ( default is 7 days ).

    Regards

    Hello,

Is this the setting Online Purge cycle in Production Area ? ---:--:--

  • Kamel HajajiKamel Hajaji Team Automic Posts: 41 Explorer ✭✭
    Hi Stijn,

There are 2 main settings for purge in Area :
    Name                                                        Value
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Online purge cycle in Production Area    (DDD:HH:MM)    ---:--:--
Online purge time in Production Area     (HH:MM)    00:01

You have to choose between :
    - a cycle (DDD:HH:MM)
    or
    - a start time (HH:MM) , ( every day , default is 00:01)

This is an important part of the "maintenance opérations" described in section 4.2 of  "Dollar Universe Administration Guide".
Refer also to the UniViewer User Guide, section "Node settings" for details of purge settings.

    have a nice weekend

    Dear,

Isn’t that for the online reorganization ?
Online purge time in Production Area (HH:MM)

My question is for the cleanup RES files and log files in /log/exp

    Regards,
    Stijn

Hello Stijn, if there is a Resource log file which keeps being filled whereas there is no Job in status "Event Wait", it means that there is a line on the file u_frrv60.dta file which should have been purged when the job went to status Time Overrun or its launch was Deleted.
Please open a case so that we can tell you which is the impacted line.
Unfortunately, there is no such a parameter for the maximum size of the Resource logs, this is a Product Enhancement that has already been sent to the Product Manager.
