Agent Not 'Authenticated'

I have deployed numerous agents in the past with no issue. We are using local accounts to start the agents, and are going through the PROXY 2.0 from one network to the other.

When I start the agent it shows up in the System Overview, but the "Authenticated" check box is not marked and I cannot manipulate the agent in any way.

I have read through the logs on the SMGR, Agent, and the CP it is connecting too; each time it shows that the connection has been successfully established, but prints no error statements.

Has anyone experienced this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you renewed your transfer key?
Also are you dynamically creating it or statically defining it in the ini?
When deploying the agent are you omitting this file?
Those are usually the cases when I've seen this.

I have tried renewing the transfer key several times, but as the agents do not respond to any jobs or requests.

Also are you dynamically creating it or statically defining it in the ini?
It is defined in the .ini, per default settings. I have 40+ other agents running in this fashion:

    [AUTHORIZATION]
    KeyStore=InitialPackage=

When deploying the agent are you omitting this file?
Yes. When I deploy the file is gone, when the agent starts for the first time it gets generated.

Those are usually the cases when I've seen this.

I have had the issue before as well, and renewing / bouncing the agent typically works. Additionally, the agents are not showing in Messages when they finally do show up. After several hours(!) the agent will finally show authenticated and list the details for the agent. The agent then continues to connect and disconnect every 10 minutes(default keepalive time...), and all jobs I execute against it get hung forever.

    I appreciate your help!

Would be great to share this information with all others within community.....

@Ethan Schumann I would recommen opening a Support Ticket and send WP, CP and Agent Logs to them to check.

Ant the Info which authentication method you use...

@Ethan Schumannis it possible that you stumbled over this error while installing an RA FTP V4 Agent?

Sorry for the late reply here:

My issue was caused by a unique scenario. My customer was in the middle of a data center migration, and unbeknownst to me the server I was targeting was in the old location. Bi-directional communications were not working, so the agent was able to send data to me, but I could not transmit back.

In the end, not a configuration issue. I do appreciate the replies though!

Hi, I am facing the same issue. I just installed RA Webservice v3, but when I try to start the agent, it doesn't start. The "authenticated" box on the system overview is unchecked. I tried renewing the transfer key and recreating the agent on client 0, but none of that seem to work.

Hi Judith  - have you tried starting RA WS agent manually?
What is the error in the log file?
I'd recommend opening a Support ticket for this so we can review the issue.

Possibly you forgot to create the Agent object in Clt 0 manually. But its just a guess - pls have a look into the agent log as Christine advised.

@Christine Chavez, there's no log file created on the agent folder. I'll open a ticket and attach WP/CP logs.
@Wolfgang Brueckler I created the object in client 0.

@Judith I am working on your INC00128609. The issue could be the AE system name defined in the agent's ini file is not correct. I have sent you an email via the ticket.

    Thanks!
